STRONTIUM-89 OR SAMARIUM-153 THERAPY FOR PAIN FROM OSSEOUS METASTASES

Indications

Palliation of pain in advanced metastatic bone disease with documented primary prostate cancer (Strontium or Samarium.) and Breast Ca (Samarium only).

Preparation

Bone scan,to document osteoblastic character of lesions.

Attention

Due to the very high price of the Radioactive Agent this procedure is not covered by Medicare. The patient needs to be referred through the public hospital system.
