Venography: Flow Dynamic Study (with Tc99m pertechnetate) and Blood Pool Study (with Tc99m - RBC labelled "in vivo")
Original technique developed in Launceston (A.M. Snarski, European Journal of Nuclear Medicine 1989:15,137-142) includes ascending venography with 3 flow studies presenting deep venous system in calf, thigh and pelvis followed by blood pool venography.
Indications
Suspected D.V.T. in selected cases if Doppler inconclusive of difficult to perform.
Preparation
Pyrophosphate 1mg I.V. 10 min. before study.
