Thallium-201 Whole Body Scan

Indications

  • Investigation of malignant tumors before and after the treatment (viability).
  • Investigation of Ca breast primary lesions, when mammography inconclusive (dens breast), or for soft tissue recurrence.
  • Investigation of brain tumors
  • Investigation of lymphoma (combined with Ga-67 scan).
  • Investigation of thyroid Ca when patient on Thyroxine.

Procedure

IV injection of Thallium after 20 min rest. Scans 20 min and 2 hrs post injection.
