Renal Cortical Scan - SPECT (with Tc99m - DMSA)

Indications

Determination of kidney size and differential function, screening for cortical scars, focal lesions, lacerations and kidney infarctions. Assessment of congenital agenesis and horseshoe kidney.

Procedure

The dose of Tc99m DMSA is injected I.V.with scanning 3 hours later.
