Lymphoscintigraphy (with Tc-99m Antimonium Sulphide Colloid)
For visualization of sentinel node in Melanoma and Breast Carcinoma.
Preparation
Emla cream
Procedure
Intradermal (in Melanoma) and subaureolar (in Breast Ca) administration of the tracer. In melanoma 4-6 0.1ml doses around the lesion, in Breast Ca 1 dose-0.6ml..Scan takes up to 3 hrs. Location of the node is marked with skin marker.
Attention
Surgical microdissection should follow same day if radioactive probe is used during the procedure.
Lymphoscintigraphy in Ca of R breast. Colloid injected intradermaly in subaureoral area (0.3 ml).
