Liver-Spleen Scan - SPECT (with Tc99m - tin colloid)

Indications

Detection and follow up of primary and secondary tumors, abscesses or cysts. Detection and evaluation of diffuse hepatic parenchymal disease. Evaluation of size and position of liver and spleen. Evaluation of spleen infarction and trauma.

Procedure

Planar views and SPECT 15 min.post administration of the tracer.

Liver Cirrhosis

Liver cirrhosis. Due to damage to RES cells in the liver, there is significant shift of the tracer to the spleen.
