WHOLE BODY 123-IODINE SCAN
Indication
Follow up study in patients with well differentiated Thyroid Ca. 131-I is not used for scanning due to its stunning effect on malignant tissue before possible therapy dose.
Preparation
Replacement of Thyroxine treatment with T3 (2 x 20 ug-authorised prescription is provided) for 4 weeks,than 2 weeks with no medication. Check TSH 5 days before 123-I.scan.. When scan negative T3 and T4 is started immediately.
