C.S.F. SHUNT STUDY with Tc99m-DTPA

Indication

Investigation of ventricular shunt patency.

Procedure

Administration of 0.1 mi of the tracer in to the shunt reservoir. Scanning time up to 3 hrs.

Normal transit of the tracer through shunt to peritoneal cavity.

Normal transit of the tracer through shunt to peritoneal cavity. Also some transit to ventricles presenting good communication.
